Yield

Consider the yield characteristics of Tiras potatoes. The variety is suitable for two harvests. Refers to medium early varieties.

From emergence to technical ripeness passes 70-80 days. In the coldest regions, the variety ripens for 90 days. The growing season lasts 60-65 days. Fruit formation occurs 10-15 days after planting.

The crop is harvested 38-42 days after the first shoots... 210 centners of fruits are harvested from 1 hectare. At the end of the growing season, the total yield reaches 460 centners per hectare.

The yield of marketable tubers is 93%. The variety has excellent keeping quality. It is stored in cool vegetable stores for more than 5 months. Has a dining purpose. Taste qualities are rated at 3.7-4.0 points out of 5.

The variety is responsive to feeding. Read more about how to fertilize potatoes, when and how to fertilize, how to do it correctly when planting.

It is recommended to remove the tops two weeks before harvest. It is harvested both on seed and food bushes. This procedure accelerates the ripening of the fruit. Also, this method prevents the transmission of viral diseases by vectors.

Landing

Agrotechnics are standard. Landing must be done in early May... Plots of land are chosen well-lit. Recommended planting scheme: 35x60 cm. The sowing depth should not be more than 8-10 cm.

Potatoes should be placed after annual or perennial grasses, winter crops, cereals or legumes. The variety grows actively on all types of soil.

Before planting, all the sprouts on the tubers must be broken off.... Otherwise, additional stems will not sprout from the eyes. The plant can be skinny, with few leaves and subsequently a poor harvest.

Growing

Prefers systematic watering no more than once a week. Does not tolerate waterlogging soil in the second decade of the growing season.

Water causes fruit to rot... In such conditions, the root system is not able to develop stably. Rot may appear on the plant. The variety requires loose soil, which means hilling is required.

In the stone ground potato tubers may be deformed. Weeds need to be removed periodically. You can mulch areas. Weed plants extract essential minerals. Bushes overgrown with weeds bring reduced yield.

Diseases and pests

The subspecies is highly resistant to various diseases: cancer, fruit rust. Medium resistant to stem nematode and common scab.

Of the pests, the variety can be affected by the bear.

This insect lives in the ground. It digs passages, making its way to the bushes of the plant. The bear feeds on the root system, eats tubers, which causes irreparable damage to private farms.

In case of mass reproduction of the pest, they use 10% malofos preparation... 50 g of the mixture is diluted in 10 liters of water at room temperature. With a small amount of pest, the folk method is used. Legumes and cereals are boiled, vegetable oil and water are added. Plants are sprayed with the resulting solutions.

Often, the Colorado potato beetle and its larvae cause irreparable harm to plantings. Special chemicals or folk methods will help to deal with them.

Tiras potatoes are a medium early variety. Resistant to various diseases. Prefers loose, breathable soil. The fruits have excellent keeping quality. Can be transported over long distances. Their taste is rated 4 out of 5.
